What is Physical Therapy?

The treatment of disease, injury, or deformity by physical methods such as massage, heat treatment, and exercise rather than by medications or medical procedures; also known as Physiotherapy in other countries.

➢ Physical Therapy helps individuals of any age who have ailments, diseases or wounds that may inhibit their normal ability to move and function.

➢ A customized physical therapy program can assist people with coming back to their prior level of functioning, energize exercises, and provide ways to daily life changes that can help prevent further damage and improve in health and well-being.

Who needs physical therapy?

This is a great question. Most of the time physical therapy is required by individuals who normally fall into the following classifications:

1. Athletes for sports related injuries.

2. Mothers to be. As the baby grows, the weight taxes the muscles and the spine causing back pain.

3. Children with challenges in advancement, pediatric issues, mobility issues, or injury relates issues.

4. Middle age to more established people. As age progresses the body doesn't recover as quickly, and so healing time is much longer.

5. Anyone with chronic diseases such as cancer, heart illness, diabetes, lung ailment, lung disease, and the like.

6. Anyone with balance issues, also known as vertigo.

7. People having had a stroke.

8. Patients preparing for surgery and after surgery care.
