Ruggie

Ruggie completed his bachelors in physical therapy in 1985 and graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Santo Tomas (UST), Manila, Philippines.

Desiring further education, Ruggie immigrated to the United States in September 1986, and worked at Yale Hospital New Haven, Connecticut. Ruggie’s work experience at Yale Hospital provided the basis of his well-rounded clinical experience that included working with well-known regional plastic, vascular, orthopedic, and oncology surgeons. While working at Yale Hospital, Ruggie pursued and completed his Masters of Science in Exercise Physiology at Southern Connecticut State University.

Yearning for a life-style change, Ruggie decided to move to Eugene, Oregon in 1991. Since 1995, Ruggie has worked as an outpatient therapist in various Peace Health outpatient therapy clinics. In October 2003, Ruggie was given the opportunity to manage Cottage Grove Community Hospital outpatient therapy services. In 2008, after 5 years as manager of the physical therapy department at Cottage Grove Community Hospital, Ruggie joined Physical Therapy Services.

Ruggie is a Certified Manual Physical Therapist (CMPT) “with distinction” from the North American Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy, and gained his MBA from Northwest Christian University (NCU). He is an inducted member of Sigma Delta Beta MBA International Honor Society.

Ruggie tremendously enjoys spending quality time with his family. He and his wife, Joyce, have been married for 34 years and they have two sons. Ruggie loves road cycling, downhill skiing, wing-shooting, backpacking, and is an avid angler, practicing all forms of angling but enjoys fly-fishing the most. He is a fanatical salmon/steelhead fly-angler and enjoys wading in local home-waters while pursuing these anadromous fish.
